Current Articles:
- Breast Pump Borrower Beware
- Mothers simply aren't being told how to use a breast pump for breast milk
collection, let alone the health risks of using a borrowed breast pump. As a health
care provider and board-certified lactation consultant, it is my responsibility to
point out the risks and consequences so that borrowers can beware.
- From Wrong to Right
Bra Size
- It appears that so many women pregnant and breastfeeding mothers included wear the
wrong bra because of limited size availability and lack of choice brands at many
points-of-purchase. The real culprit, though, is that most women aren't measured and
properly fit prior to the purchase of their bra.
- Breast Milk Collection: Hygienic Insight
- It's been a decade since my first. My first experience with collecting my breast milk,
that is. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was my first day back to work at the
hospital since maternity leave. My co-workers had offered me all the instruction and
information that they thought I would need. "Plug in the pump, connect your kit, and turn
on the switch", they told me. Kit in hand and filled with first time fear, I went behind
closed doors to express myself. More like "relieve" myself.
